FOOD & CULTURAL ORGANIZATION

AGENDA: REDUCING FOOD WASTE TO COMBAT HUNGER

The primary objective of The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is reducing food waste to combat hunger. The committee will focus largely on topics related to eradicating hunger, sustainable management of natural resources and advancing agricultural research. The delegates will explore the complexities of the rapid depletion of natural resources and high levels of poverty in rural areas where agriculture is the primary livelihood.

Furthermore, there will be discussions focusing on climate change and environmental degradation, the impacts of which lead to food insecurity, hunger, and malnutrition in multiple areas. Even amidst multiple technological advancements, both hunger and food waste remain persistent throughout the world. Despite increased efforts to spread awareness in order to reduce these issues, socioeconomic barriers continue to widen the disparities.

As a group, the members will collaborate closely to develop strategies and implement actionable policies aimed at alleviating hunger. This committee works to lessen the environmental concerns linked to food production and waste, highlighting the need for comprehensive solutions that address the immediate needs of those facing hunger and long-term food scarcity.
