INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY

AGENDA: IMPLEMENTING NEW SAFEGUARD MEASURES FOR NUCLEAR FACILITIES

Since its founding in 1957, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has worked to advance nuclear energy's peaceful applications while opposing its use for military ones. In order to promote international collaboration and the sharing of scientific and technical knowledge, the IAEA is essential. It is in favour of using nuclear technology in a variety of industries, including industry, agriculture, healthcare, and energy.

In addition, the IAEA is responsible for establishing global safety guidelines and carrying out inspections to guarantee adherence to nuclear non-proliferation accords. The IAEA committee will discuss the agenda item of implementing new safeguard measures for nuclear facilities at this conference. Improving the verification procedures to guarantee that nuclear materials are not diverted for non-peaceful uses is the main goal of this agenda.

The suggested actions include improving international cooperation, enhancing transparency, and developing monitoring technologies. Preventing the misuse of nuclear technology and quickly identifying any unauthorised use of nuclear materials are the main objectives. The MUN delegates will support international confidence in the peaceful use of nuclear technology, strengthen global security, and ensure the safe and secure use of nuclear energy by addressing these issues.
