SECRETARIAT

Aryan Bardeja

Secretary General

Model United Nations, as the name rightfully depicts, is a window into the realm of global politics and international affairs. What it represents to me is an opportunity for the youth to be directly involved in the decision-making process of the world to be inherited by them.

Having participated in my first MUN in 2022, I have discovered the joys of a conference, from the food to the delegates; navigating discussions as a nation while collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds. What captivates me is how MUNs encourage us to grow as global citizens, skilled in research and oration.

Apart from finding me within committees like UNSC, DISEC and Ad-HOC, you may see me in the ground with my never-ending love for sports. Or perhaps in the chemistry or physics labs happily burdened with the lab work of the IBDP curriculum.

I am truly honoured to have the opportunity to oversee the discussions that await all of us within the SNSMUN's 6th edition, to observe the complex agendas masterfully tackled and the conference thoroughly enjoyed!

Karan Raj Sachdeva

Deputy Secretary General

I am an enthusiastic participant in the Model United Nations circuit, having proudly contributed to 9 conferences and served as a member of the Executive Board for our grade 8 MUN. Beyond my MUN involvement, I have been an active member of our student governing body for the past two years, where I've honed my organizational and leadership skills.

Currently enrolled in the IB program, I am deeply passionate about economics and plan to further my education in this field in the USA. I find great joy in unravelling the complexities of economic theories. Sports and gym play a vital role in my life: Engaging in sports not only keeps me physically active but also mentally sharp, balancing my academic pursuits with physical vitality.

I aspire to make SNSMUN an experience that delegates will remember for a long time; I want each and every delegate to develop a commitment to excellence: one of the core values at Shiv Nadar School; and above all, I want you all leave this MUN with a greater desire to participate in another than ever before.

Madhav Badhwar

Director General

My name is Madhav and It is my honour to be serving as your Director General for this edition of SMSMUN, where I welcome you not merely as participants, but as architects of our planet's future.

From the moment I began this journey, Model UN has shown me the critical solution-building that can be achieved through collaboration and thoughtful discussion. Incorporating these experiences, this conference is made into more than just a simulation; it's a crucible where preparation meets advocacy. Behind every resolution are countless hours of work—our chairs crafting agendas, advisors providing wisdom, and most critically, you, the delegates, shaping our shared vision.

This year, the Shiv Nadar School Noida MUN will focus on climate change—a challenge that tests humanity's resilience. When we discuss nuclear power, desertification, or climate refugees, our deliberations resonate far beyond these walls. You're not just theorizing; you're engineering a sustainable future. Approach each topic with meticulous preparation and bold imagination. Through inclusive dialogue, craft policies that are both effective and equitable.

Seize these two days, dear delegates! In this pivotal moment, you are more than witnesses; you are the visionaries rewriting Earth's climate narrative.

Ranveer Kapoor

Deputy Director General

In all of my school years, MUNs have had a special place in my heart. It is just the banging of the tables, the screaming individuals and the overall atmosphere that makes me feel at home. At first, it may seem daunting, but I can assure you that the guiding essence of MUNs entirely is to bring up your confidence and communication skills. You need to take that first step. I hope to help you with that first step.

Besides that, you can find me on the golf course as well as on the cricket pitch on a Sunday afternoon. Sports play a vital role in my personal well-being and development as they create a sense of determination and patience in me. Having been a part of the Executive Board of the Grade 8 MUN as well as participating in 9 MUN conferences have installed a sense of leadership and effective communication in me. Although I am not very fond of non-fiction novels, I do enjoy reading the Rick Riordan branch of Greek mythology as well.

I expect SNSN MUN to go above and beyond and I hope that each and every one of the delegates get to learn something from the conference. I wish the debate to be lively and the committees to have an energetic atmosphere to it. Let's make SNSMUN’24 a catalyst for dynamic debate and unforgettable experiences!

Arsheya Bhadra

Director Outreach

I am thrilled to be your Director of Outreach for this chapter of the SNSMUN! Though I may deny it on record true to my heritage of Bengal mixed with South Delhi, I am a typically “Anglicized Bengali”, trained to sip beverages while simultaneously studying Indian classical and Western classical music. I am quite literally a living embodiment of the phrase 'variety is the spice of life'.

When I am not seen leading committees or arguing passionately on all that is logical...you will find me huddled in the darkest corners of the library, daydreaming about characters whilst drowning in hues of jazz, pop, classical and rock music. I indulge in philosophy, international law & relations, criminal psychology, and occasional modern physics and on good days, take deep pleasure in eloquent oratory! I enjoy wandering picturesque small towns & consuming unhealthy amounts of caffeine.

My MUN journey has mostly seen me, on heavy duty committees like UNSC, ADHOC & JCC or CCC committees. When I’m not working for a MUN or a U.S. Model Congress debate or networking, I enjoy curating eclectic playlists, and indulge in reading (I mean who doesn’t love Percy Jackson?). With a penchant for email etiquette, and notion planning, I can’t wait to serve & believe that my years of MUN experience & winning laurels will guide my assistance to you. Always be aggressive and diplomatic at the same time. Remember “When the going gets tough…the tough get going”. Wishing you the very best.

Myra Batra

Director Delegate Affairs

My passion for debate started when I was 5. My parents often said, "Myra always has to have the last word," which holds true to this day. Debating has always come naturally to me, but I wanted to try something new to complement that skill. That's why I started participating in MUNs.

MUN has been more than just a tick on my portfolio; it has been a platform where I could broaden my horizons, gain independence, forge new friendships, and stay informed about global geopolitical issues. Participating in various MUN conferences has taught me the importance of diplomacy, research, and collaboration. Each conference provided me with unique insights and skills that have profoundly shaped my worldview.

Conferences aren’t just about showing up and giving speeches; they’re about being part of something so much bigger than yourself, which I feel is the core essence of being a delegate. Besides debate and MUNs, you can find me with headphones on, listening to songs, sitting in a corner reading a book, or at the golf range. As Director of Delegate Affairs, I have the amazing opportunity to ensure this conference is an extremely rewarding and memorable experience for all of you delegates.

Ivanya Kabir

Director Operations

As we gear up for another thrilling conference, I couldn't be more excited to dive into the action with all of the delegates! For those who haven't had the pleasure of knowing me yet, allow me to introduce myself: I am Ivanya, a grade 12 student with a passion for both the art of dance and the wonders of science.

When I'm not busy uncovering the secrets of the universe or perfecting my pirouettes, you can find me knee-deep in all things MUN. My previous experience with the SNSMUN involved a whirlwind of diplomatic debates, caffeine-fueled strategy sessions, and the occasional lost delegate wandering the halls.

Now, fasten your seatbelts because this year, I'm taking on the role of Director of Operations. That's right – I'm the logistical maestro behind the scenes, the conductor of chaos, here to elevate our conference experience to dizzying new heights! From wrangling schedules to making sure the coffee never runs dry, consider me your go-to guru for all things operational. Whether you've got burning questions, brilliant ideas, or just fancy a chat about the finer points of international relations, my door (well, inbox) is always open!

So, fellow delegates, brace yourselves for a rollercoaster ride of diplomacy, camaraderie, and maybe just a sprinkle of chaos . Together, let's make this conference one for the history books!

Rhea Chadha

Director IPC

Greetings, delegates! It is with immense excitement that I welcome you as your Director of International Press for the 6th edition of SNSMUN! As this is my final year in school, I am eagerly anticipating a conference marked by exceptional achievements, particularly with our media-oriented delegates assuming a more prominent role.

I study physics, chemistry, math, and biology (my passion for the latter is clear in the way my eyes light up on seeing any animal not belonging to the human or domesticated feline species). In addition to my academic interests, I am an avid reader of books and poetry, a writer, a pianist, a connoisseur of diverse musical genres, and a nihilist who spends extensive periods thinking. Beyond these, I enjoy swimming, eating a lot of chocolate, and laughing at just about anything for no apparent reason.

As you can tell, I really do live by the wise words of Percy Jackson – “Where’s the glory in repeating what others have done?” I believe my experience as a writer and editor over the years will help me guide delegates to write witty pieces, sketch powerful anecdotes and capture the best angles that display diplomacy while maintaining the fine balance between satire and mockery. Once again, I look forward to hosting you for SNSMUN'24, and I wish you the best of luck!
